REAF Body Painting Competition Rules, March 27, 2010
Registration: $50 for artist/1 model, $75 for artist/2 models, includes Day Passes to festival for Saturday and Sunday. Registration now closed.
Theme: Erotica
Prizes: $1000 in prizes (combination cash & gifts)

Special Effects, $200 (Special effects/props added AFTER judging, for stage presentation only)
GENERAL RULES
- Body Paint models must be at least 18 years of age with valid proof of age.
- All models and artists must register upon arrival and sign releases. Event organizers/staff or venue will not be held liable for any injury or damage incurred by artists or models.
- All body painting must be done by a sole individual (no assistants or teams, no help from model).
- Model must be painted in designated area at the festival venue. The artist must advise the competition room monitor if he/she must leave momentarily during the competition.
- Hair and nails may be prepared prior to competition start time.
- Artists may provide name/artist of song for stage presentation. Winning poetry from the REAF Erotic Poetry Contest may be added to stage presentations.
- Competitors must supply all necessary equipment and products, including towels, brushes, water buckets, compressors, and any other tools or supplies.
- Any infraction or violation of the Competition Rules will be subject to point penalties or may result in disqualification at the discretion of the judges.
JUDGING
Only artists, models, event photographers and REAF officials are allowed in the painting and judging areas. Artist is allowed to be present during judging, but may only speak to the judge when asked a direct question.

SCHEDULE
Competitors will have 4 hours to complete the painting. No extra time is allotted for setting up. Each artist must clean up their area when done painting. At the end of the 4 hours, competitors will be judged and the models will have their photos taken. After a short dinner break, artists will have 1 hour to add any special effects to their models for the stage presentation.
PHOTOGRAPHY
All artists and models must sign a release form concerning the use of any official photos relating to the event and competition.
All competitors and models will have access to an onsite studio photo session. All competitors and models will get free low res images of their work, and will be able to purchase hi res images of their work for an additional fee.
Artists, models and the public may take photos in main event room after the stage presentation.
BRUSH/SPONGE
Allowed:
Models must be topless: pasties are not required but can be used.
Bottoms are required: g-string, bikini bottoms, boy shorts, thong or biker shorts.
Medium: Face Paint, Body Paint, Makeup
Applicators: Brushes, Sponges, Sponge Rollers, Spatulas, Wood Sticks and Fingers
Stencils and shields
False fingernails
False eyelashes
Wigs and false hair (for head only)
Glitter (loose or spray on)
Hair may be painted
Glue may ONLY be used for pasties and to keep bottoms in place
Not Allowed:
Airbrushing
Masks over any part of the face
Gemstones of any type
Glitter in a glue or gel form
Anything attached with glue, string, elastic or tape
Body Piercings must be small and discreet as jewelry is not allowed.
AIRBRUSH
Allowed:
Models must be topless: pasties are not required but can be used.

Applicators: Airbrushes (Brushes may only be used for face and eye make-up)

SPECIAL EFFECTS/STAGE PRESENTATION
After the judging and photo session for Airbrush and Brush/Sponge categories, artists will have one hour to prepare their model for the Special Effects Competition/Stage Presentation. All models will be in the show; all artists are eligible (but not required) to compete for the $200 Special Effects prize.
Accessories are encouraged!
- Attachments (that you wear or glue on in any way such as devil horns, bolts, etc).
- Hand Held and Worn Props, such as jewelry, feathers, wings, goggles, sunglasses, hats, wigs, hair accessories, headpieces, masks, gloves, socks, stockings.
- Special FX Prosthetics, Foam or Latex Applications
